Best-practice example for the communication of good research practice<\/h3>The \u201cBorstel Model\u201d was developed in response to a serious case of scientific misconduct at the Research Centre Borstel (FZB), Leibniz Lung Center. On page 18f (available in German only), it says: \u201cAn analysis of this case of scientific misconduct and the damage it caused not only serves to comprehend and evaluate the specific case, it is also an ideal opportunity to critically examine the overall system in place at a research institution. The Borstel Model was developed with the aim of initiating positive developments and change processes at the FZB based on this analysis: it consists of five pillars for the preven-tion of scientific misconduct. \r\nThe idea behind the Borstel Model is to interlink structure, strategy and behaviour\/culture.
